A Vessel Prepared for the Master’s Use
In a house, there are many vessels, but the Master seeks those that are clean, set apart, and ready for His immediate service. God does not demand perfection before He can use us, but He does require a heart that is surrendered and uncluttered.
Too often, our vessels become cracked by the compromises of daily life or weighted down by the cares of this world - the pursuit of wealth, the drive for status, or the fleeting pleasures that satisfy only for a moment. When our lives are filled to the brim with worldly ambitions, there remains no room for the holy power and purpose of God to flow through us.
To be a vessel unto honor means choosing to yield daily to the divine Potter. It is a call to clear out the debris of selfish desires, repair the broken altars of our devotion, and present ourselves open, ready, and available.
“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” — 2 Timothy 2:21
